Saffron Ban Continues in Kerala; Police Now Ask Karikkakam Chamundi Temple Committee not to use Saffron Decorations

Kochi. The ban on the use of saffron colour in temples in Kerala has continued after a controversial police directive was issued for the Vellayani temple. The police have now ordered a ban on saffron colour in the Karikkakam Chamundi temple in Thiruvananthapuram.

The temple festival committee has been threatened with strict action if they violate the police directive against using saffron flags or decorations. The ruling Communist party’s anti-Hindu stances are continuing, and the government is accused of trying to suppress the Hindu community and organizations that support them.

In another temple, the police had previously banned saffron colour flags and other decorations. However, people protested against this by wearing saffron-coloured dresses.

The issue has sparked a debate on social media, with many criticizing the government’s actions and accusing them of targeting the Hindu community. The use of saffron is considered a sacred symbol for Hindus, and the government’s ban has been seen as an attempt to suppress their religious beliefs and practices.
