Padma Bhushan Dr. S.S. Badrinath, the visionary founder of Sankara Netralaya, attained the lotus feet of Almighty in Chennai today (November 21, 2023). His commitment and relentless efforts in the field of ophthalmic care touched the lives of innumerable individuals, restoring vision to those in need.
Dr. S.S. Badrinath is associated with RSS and admired the role of RSS which played a critical role in educating the people on the need for eye donation and created awareness on the same. This awareness campaign sowed a seed to mature as CU Shah Eye Bank. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Tamilnadu karyakartas paid tributes personally to the bereaved family. I on behalf of RSS, express my heartfelt condolences on the passing away of Dr. S.S. Badrinath ji, an eminent and reputed eye-surgeon.
He was the founder of the well-known Sankara Netralaya, Chennai. He established this institution 45 years ago and the hospital has been rendering great service to thousands of people, even those who come from far eastern parts of India and even neighbourhood. He had been associated with RSS for more than 4 decades and cherished his association with Sangh and the Sangh Karyakartas from Sri Kasinathan to Adaraneeya Shri Shivaramji Joglekar, Shri. H.V. Seshadri, Shri KS Sudarshan ji, Sarsanghchalak Shri Mohan ji Bhagwat and others.
He has been the inspiration for many to start such hospitals in other parts of the country.
I pray the Almighty to give strength to the bereaved family to bear the grief and bestow peace on the departed soul.
