Guwahati. With the idea of re-establishing India as the epicenter of literature and culture, a National level Literature Festival is going to be organized in the District Library and the Axom Sahitya Sabha premises, Guwahati.
Pragjyotishpur Literature Festival (PLF) is going to be organized by Shankardev Education and Research Foundation (SERF).
In the first press conference held at Dispur Press Club Guwahati, the President of the working committee Phanindra Kr. Debchaudhury and General Secretary Bikram Kalita have declared that the festival will be held from 29th sept 2023 and it will continue to 1st October 2023 where writers and poets all across the country will participate in various capacities.
The General Secretary has also announced that “Pragjyotishpur Literature Award” will also be awarded in 2 categories, to recognize the leading authors and also to encourage the new and promising writers.
Dr. Sudeshna Bhattacharya, HOD of Sanskrit dept., Guwahati University and Secretary of SERF declared the theme of the fest being “In Search of roots”. She also further vocalized the need regarding educating the youth about our ancient heritage, culture and literature.
The vice president of the committee Dr. Sarita Sharma shares the topics which will be highlighted during the festival – history, culture, translation, literature, nature, cinema, quiz and workshops etc.
Finally, the President and the Secretary of the organizing committee requests everyone’s cooperation and support towards the festival to make it a grand success.
