Madhya Pradesh government has issued a notification introducing a 35 percent reservation for women in government jobs. This change comes through an amendment to the Madhya Pradesh Civil Service Act of 1997, which the government has recently implemented. It’s important to note that the new amendment is applicable to all government departments except the forest department.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had previously announced this move, indicating that 35 percent reservation would be granted to women in all state departments, including the police force. Additionally, he confirmed that 50 percent of the vacancies in the teaching sector would be reserved for women. Subsequently, the government has formally issued this order.
Furthermore, Chief Minister has assured that the monthly assistance provided by the government to housewives will be disbursed promptly. The funds will be transferred to their accounts before any election is announced to ensure timely receipt. Under this scheme, eligible housewives in the state receive Rs 1,250 per month.
