Germany has imposed a complete ban on Hamas and a pro-Palestine group that spreads anti-Israel and anti-Semitic views. The German Interior Minister, Nancy Faeser, announced the ban, emphasizing that Hamas has been classified as a “terrorist” organization within the country. Faeser stated, “With Hamas, I have today completely banned the activities of a terrorist organization whose aim is to destroy the state of Israel.”
Furthermore, Faeser confirmed that she is also prohibiting and dissolving the German branch of the Samidoun network, which she cited as “supporting and glorifying” various groups, including Hamas. Samidoun organized an event on October 7 where individuals shared pastries on a Berlin-street to commemorate Hamas’s actions against Israel.
On October 7, Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on Israel which have killed at least 1400 people, most of them are civilians. The Israel-Hamas conflict has resulted in over 9,000 casualties, including 3,760 children, so far.
