New Delhi. Sift Kaur Samra won gold in the women’s 50m Rifle 3-P individual event at the Asian Games 2023 today. In women’s 25m pistol shooting event, Bharatiya team comprising of Manu Bhaker, Rhythm Sangwan and Esha Singh also claimed gold medal. This brings the overall medal tally for the country to 21 – 5 gold, 6 silver and 10 bronze. Meanwhile, Esha Singh in an individual women’s 25m pistol event won Silver, behind the china’s Rui Liu.
Vishnu Saravanan, has added another medal by securing a bronze in the ILCA- 7 event at the Asian Games 2023. He finished with net score of 34. Earlier today, in a 50m rifle team event Indian trio of Sift Samra Kaur, Ashi Chouksey and Manini Kaushik clinched silver while Ashi Chouksey in an individual event of 50m rifles bagged bronze medal. In the Preliminary stages of Pool A match the Women’s Hockey Team trounced Singapore 14-0.
Today, Bharat would also look to secure medals in Tennis where Sumit Nagal, Ankita Raina and men’s doubles pair of Ramkumara Ramanathan and Saketh Myneni will be in action in their respective quarterfinal matches. In women’s Boxing, Nikhat Zareen will be back in the ring. She will be taking on 2022 Asian Championships bronze medallist Chorong Bak of Korea.
