ପ୍ରତିରକ୍ଷା ବିଭାଗର ମୁଖ୍ୟ ଜେନେରାଲ ଅନିଲ ଚୌହାନ ସଶସ୍ତ୍ର ବାହିନୀରେ ଅସ୍ତ୍ରଶସ୍ତ୍ର ପ୍ରଣାଳୀର ଆଧୁନିକୀକରଣର ଆବଶ୍ୟକତା ଉପରେ ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱାରୋପ କରିଛନ୍ତି। ବୁଧବାର ଦିନ ‌ଏକ ସଭାକୁ ସମ୍ବୋଧିତ କରି ସେ କହିଥିଲେ ଯେ, “ଆଜିର ଯୁଦ୍ଧକୁ ଆସନ୍ତାକାଲିର ପ୍ରଯୁକ୍ତିବିଦ୍ୟା ସହିତ ଲଢ଼ିବାକୁ ପଡିବ। ଗତକାଲିର ଅସ୍ତ୍ରଶସ୍ତ୍ର ପ୍ରଣାଳୀ ସାହାଯ୍ୟରେ ଆଜିର ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ଜିତିବା ଅସମ୍ଭବ। ଅପରେସନ୍ ସିନ୍ଦୁର ଆମକୁ ଶିିଖାଇଛି ଯେ, ଆମ ଭୂଖଣ୍ଡ ପାଇଁ ନିର୍ମିତ ସ୍ୱଦେଶୀ କାଉଣ୍ଟର-ୟୁଏଏସ୍ ସିଷ୍ଟମଗୁଡ଼ିକ କାହିଁକି ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ। ଆମକୁ ନିଜକୁ ସୁରକ୍ଷିତ ରଖିବା ପାଇଁ ନିବେଶ ଏବଂ ନୂତନ ଅସ୍ତ୍ର ନିର୍ମାଣ କରିବାକୁ ପଡିବ” ବୋଲି ଏକ କର୍ମଶାଳାକୁ ସମ୍ବୋଧିତ କରି ସିଡିଏସ୍ ଚୌହାନ କହିଥିଲେ।
