Bharatiya Men’s hockey team wins gold in Asian Games

New Delhi. At the Hangzhou Asian Games in China, Bharat amassed a total of historic 95 medals, including 22 gold, 34 silver, and 39 bronze.

Bharatiya men’s hockey team bagged the first gold medal of the day, defeating Japan 5-1. It was a dominant performance from the team, who led 3-0 at halftime. The Japanese team tried to make a comeback in the second half, but Bharat was too strong for them. In Bridge, the Men’s team claimed silver against Hong Kong in the finals.

Earlier in Archery, the men’s recurve team grabbed a silver medal, losing to South Korea in the finals whereas the women’s team clinched bronze after defeating Vietnam in the playoff.

In Sepaktakraw, women’s team held bronze after losing to Thailand in the semifinals. In Wrestling, Bharat won three bronze medals. Sonam bagged bronze in the women’s freestyle 62kg category, Kiran Bishnoi secured bronze in the women’s freestyle 76kg category, and Aman bagged bronze in the men’s freestyle 57kg category. In a shocking turn of events, Bajrang Punia bowed out without a medal against Japan.

In Badminton, H S Prannoy had to settle for a bronze medal after losing to China’s Li Shi Feng in the semifinals. The duo of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy headed to the finals, defeating Malaysian pair at the semi-final of men’s doubles by 21-12.

In men’s Cricket, Bharat thrashed Bangladesh by 9 wickets in the semi-final and cruises into the finals.

In Kabaddi, men’s team decimated Pakistani team to make it to the finals while women’s team will clash with Chinese Taipei in the finals.
