Actress posted a picture wearing traditional saree in front of Uddupi Sri Krishna temple
Navya Nair, a Malayalam movie actress, is facing cyber bullying after she posted her picture on social media standing in front of Uddupi Sri Krishna temple wearing a traditional saree. The attack was unleashed by left-Islamist corners with vulgar comments, which have since been removed by the actress’ social media handlers.
The cyber bullying began after Navya Nair posted her picture on social media. One person commented that her saree smells of cow dung. Another comment insulted her by saying that she would jump into any cow dung pit to get an award. Many comments are coming from profile with Muslim names.
When the cyber bullying increased, her social media handlers removed many of the offensive comments from her social media post.
Earlier, she came under attack for something she said in an interview. At that time, she was attacked by people raising regional sentiments. In the interview she was recalling how actor Dileep jokingly asked if there was electricity in her home town of Cheppad in Alappuzha when he visited her home. It was because Cheppad is surrounded by paddy fields, lakes etc. the actress said.
However, left jihadi cyber bullies began to attack her. Some even insulted her racially. Interestingly, such racial slurs came from people with clear communist background. The actress comments in the interview was taken out of context and spread widely. The present cyber bullying against her proves that this was done from jihadi corners.
The hatred towards the actress is not new. Navya Nair also came under severe criticism for attending the Yuvam program held at Kochi on 24th April this year, in which Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given a rousing welcome by nationalists.
It must be noted that when Navya Nair came under severe attack no self-proclaimed feminists came in support of her. The actress has said that she is not responding to the present cyber bullying.
